Liuhua Lake Park
The Park of Liuhua Lake is located in the west of Guangzhou and close to Yuexiu Hill. There is a beautiful story about the name of the lake. It is said that in 917 AD the emperor of the Southern Han Kingdom built Fangchun Park beside the lake. The women in the palace threw many flowers into the lake and the flowers floated on the surface of the water. So the lake is named Liuhua Lake.
Liuhua Lake consists of three huge lakes and four small ones dotted with a few islets and walkways. The park is divided into three parts: the sightseeing area, the entertainment area, and the area which is used to appreciate the flowers, birds, and plants in flowerpots. This park is an ideal place for relaxation and dining. In the park, there are the winding banks of the lakes, the exuberant forests, the luxuriantly blooming flowers, and clean benches for you to rest. Here you may find many people who love raising birds. and bring them in exquisite cages to let them compete in singing. The scene is very interesting. There is another scene in the evening. Young couples roam in the beautiful scenery of lakes and flowers in quiet conversation. Most visitors admire the tranquillity and warmth.
