The Dinghu Mountain Tourist Resort

Zhaoqing is famous for Dinghu Mountain, it is famous for its long history and forest ecosystem and is the first national nature sanctuary in China. The mountain is located in the middle of Guangdong Province in South China, in a northeastern suburb of Zhaoqing City. It is 84 kilometres from Guangzhou.

Dinghu Mountain lies on the southeastern part of Eurasia. It is affected by the monsoon humid climate of the Torrid Zone of South Asia. The annual average temperature is 219C,with a mean maximum of 28C in July and a mean minimum of 12C in January. There is a distinct pattern of wet and dry seasons. April through September represents the rainy season, and November through January represents the dry season.

The vegetation of Dinghu Mountain is typical evergreen broad-leaf forest. Sub-tropical botanic plants are the predominant species while tropical plants are also found here. There are many botanic species,including many endangered and rare plants. The types of vegetation can be divided into the ravine rainforest, the Monson evergreen broad-leaf forest, the mountain evergreen broad-leaf forest, the pine and broad-leaf mixed forest, the pineforest, and the mountain shrubby grassland. The soil consists mainly of red earth, with yellow earth and mountain shrubby-meadow soil.

Among the scenic resorts in China, DinghuMountain is the first that has been listed by the UNESCO as a natural reserve of the world. On the mountain are the famous Qingyun Temple, Baiyun Temple, and Yuelong Nunnery. Millions of people come to the mountain for sightseeing every year.
